Careers

Engineering is the product.
People are the engineers.

TOKEF is a small international consultancy — deliberately. The people we hire touch every stage of a thermal conversion project, and their names end up on the work.

01Working at TOKEF

What working here actually means.

Four things we can promise because they are how the firm already operates — not aspirations on a poster.

01

Engineers, not theorists

Our positioning since 2017. Work is delivered against operating reality — feedstock that varies, schedules that slip, plants that must run tomorrow.

02

Vendor-neutral by design

We represent owners. Your advice is not bent toward anyone's catalogue, and that independence is why clients trust the numbers you produce.

03

End-to-end involvement

The engineer who screens the fuel can stay with the project through FEED, construction and operation. Few consultancies let you follow cause to effect.

04

Knowledge transfer is the job

We leave clients able to operate without us. Teaching operators is not overhead here — it is the deliverable.

02Disciplines

The profiles we grow, not vacancies.

TOKEF has no public vacancy list. These are our permanent areas of work — if one sounds like you, we want to hear from you regardless of whether a seat is open today.

01

Process & thermal engineers

What you would work on

Mass and energy balances, reaction engineering, CFD review and technology screening for gasification and waste-to-energy projects — from first feasibility numbers to commissioning support.

What we look for

You think in flows and temperatures, not slideware. Thermal or chemical engineering background; able to defend a number when a client pushes on it.

02

Field & project engineers

What you would work on

Vendor-neutral owner's-engineer work: specification, tender analysis, construction supervision and interface management between client, EPC and technology suppliers.

What we look for

You would rather catch a problem on site than explain it in a report. Comfortable being the person who says “not yet” to a schedule that is ahead of reality.

03

Laboratory & fuel analysts

What you would work on

Solid fuel characterization — proximate, ultimate, calorific and ash analysis — and the translation of results into design decisions and gasification suitability verdicts.

What we look for

Precision as a habit, not an aspiration. You document uncertainty honestly and you know what a lab number can and cannot promise a process engineer.

04

Digital & automation specialists

What you would work on

Control philosophy, monitoring and optimization of industrial thermal assets — statistical analysis, computational simulation and applied AI where it earns its keep.

What we look for

You measure automation by plant uptime and yield, not dashboards shipped. Industrial control literacy plus the judgement to leave simple things simple.

03Applications

How applying works.

No portals, no black holes. Applications reach an engineer, and every profile gets an answer.

Send your profile: use the project inquiry form — select “Other” as the project type and tell us which discipline fits. A short CV or LinkedIn link is enough for a first conversation.

  1. 01

    Your profile reaches the practice

We route applications by discipline, so the first read is by an engineer who does the work — not an automated screener.

  2. 02

    A technical conversation

Roughly 45 minutes: your work, our work, and whether the problems you want are the problems we have.

  3. 03

    Scope together

If it fits, we agree what you would own first — typically a feasibility screen, a lab campaign or a supervision package.

TOKEF Energia is an equal-opportunity employer. Current openings, when they exist, are published on this page — the disciplines above describe our permanent areas of work.

Next step

Rather solve one difficult problem properly? So do we.

Talk with engineers who have designed, de-risked and commissioned thermal conversion systems — and who will tell you honestly if a concept does not hold.
